Tennis isn’t the only reason to join TWLTC. Whilst the focus of activities at the Club is mainly on the tennis courts, the Café Bar and Lounge is open every day under the watchful eye of Kari, our Bar Manager.
Members of the social committee work hard with Kari and the Office to organise year-round events for Members and their guests like charity tournaments, lunches and coffee mornings, quizzes, poker evenings and carol singing, to name but a few!
TWLTC’s Café Bar and Lounge is located upstairs in the Clubhouse where Members and their guests can relax, chat with friends, watch TV or even catch up on some work. The Café Bar has a wonderful selection of tea, freshly ground coffee, alcoholic and soft drinks, as well as a simple but delicious menu including homemade paninis, sandwiches, soup and cakes as well as ice creams, fruit and chocolate.
Out of hours, you can still refresh yourself with tea, hot chocolate or freshly ground coffee from the Rijo coffee machine and you can relax in the lounge at anytime of the day from 8.30am through to the Café Bar closing time.

Kari is a true Scandinavian, both Norwegian and Swedish, and spent time in Copenhagen in her younger days. For more than 20 years she worked in tourism as a tour guide/air hostess (Air guide) and feels at home everywhere in the Mediterranean – speaking a few languages also helps.
Having worked in Spain, Cyprus, Morocco and Greece, Kari ended up living in Corfu for a long time, running a small hotel with her husband.
After a short stint as a Manager in a friends pub in Old Oxted she ended up in Wadhurst, as a House Manager and PA, working for a high net worth Swedish entrepreneur. Almost 10 years in the bucolic hills of East Sussex and Kari finally gave in to tennis – a lifelong love affair that started with Bjorn Borg all those years ago. Full circle or, as Rafa would say, Vamos!
We also have a fabulous balcony where you can watch the tennis and take advantage of any good weather whilst enjoying your food and drinks.
