Director of Tennis
Our Director of Tennis, James, oversees the whole coaching programme at TWLTC. He has been inspired by the teaching and attitudes of many leading academies and coaches including the IMG Academy in Florida and implements several of their philosophies into his coaching here at TWLTC. James is a Level 3 coach and has worked with many top juniors including two road to Wimbledon national quarter finalists. James is passionate about teaching players from club to national standard.

Darren is a very enthusiastic coach who has over 15 years’ experience working at various clubs in England. He is an LTA Level 3 LTA coach who works with players of all abilities from orange level to adults. Darren has played first and second team club tennis for 20 years and has played regional level LTA tournaments since being a junior. He also represented Greenwich University tennis team in the national cup where he gained a degree in sport science.

Lucy has been coaching for nine years and is a qualified LTA Level 3 coach. She works with all Mini Tennis abilities as well as beginner to intermediate adults. On court, she is enthusiastic, patient and encouraging. Lucy has good communication skills with both the pupils and parents. Finally, one of Lucy’s unique teaching skills is the ability to build up an individual rapport with her players; allowing her to tailor lessons specific to their training needs.

James brings with him seven years’ coaching experience at David Lloyd Eastbourne, and is LTA Level 3. He is exceptionally talented with younger children (including tots); encouraging them to excel in the game and making him a valued part of the TWLTC coaching programme. James also enjoys teaching adults. His forte is developing and improving players’ techniques and working with individuals to help them become the best players that they can.

Tom got inspired by tennis at a very young age, picking up a racket at the age of four and competing from the age of nine. Tom, in his youth, has competed in club level tournaments and grade 3 events, whilst later developing into a Team Tennis (Kent) player, competing in both singles and doubles. Tom started coaching when he was 16 and has13 years of coaching experience. He has developed beginner mini-tennis and adults, as well as working with performance juniors and adults. Tom will help groups and individual players reach their goals by delivering a learning in a professional and fun way – inspiring them in the same way that he has been. Tom currently holds a licenced Level 3 LTA tennis coach qualification.

Adam is our newest member of the team with nearly 30 years teaching experience and is LTA and PTR qualified. He has taught a wide range of players from beginners to internationals and also represented his County many times as a player. He has been ranked as high as 3rd in the Country for Seniors Tennis.
